Change the promotional tone of it
[edit]How to change the promotional tone, I have tried everything. changed the puffery words, removed peacock and weasel words. I have even changed the entire read to a dry encyclopedic tone. but, I cannot seem to get rid of the Promotional/Advertisement tone. Please help. @Wikishovel Ayshaipath (talk) 06:02, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- Then perhaps another editor can help. Are you connected with Haya Sehgal, either in a personal or work capacity? If so, then you will find it very difficult to maintain a WP:Neutral point of view on the subject. Wikishovel (talk) 06:05, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- No, I am not connected to her in any way. The remarks are all positive on this book. I am not able to find anything critical. Is it this reason that promotional tone is more transparent? Ayshaipath (talk) 06:32, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for confirming that you have no conflict of interest. You've improved the tone of the article, and I wasn't able to find negative reviews either, but for example, "highlights the importance of cultural diversity, inclusivity, and the importance of building a resilient nation that advances while preserving its heritage" is the sort of language appropriate for a magazine, rather than an encyclopedia. - I see. Thank you for the insight. I will try and edit it in a more appropriate manner. Ayshaipath (talk) 07:04, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

- @Wikishovel i have shown the page to another editor and it says there is no promotional content here. It seems objective, factual, and impartial. There are no Peacock words, Weasel words, or Puffery words and everything has been dealt accordingly.
- Please, advise me if there is any other way to improve the mannerism. Ayshaipath (talk) 07:20, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- The other editor you mentioned is welcome to join the discussion here. Wikishovel (talk) 07:22, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- The other editor is not from Wikipedia, it is another in house associate (an academic writer) actually. But, I will be asking a few Wikipedia gurus for help. I am determined to give this a go and keep improving till I get it right.
- Meanwhile, if you have any other advise, please share it with me. Ayshaipath (talk) 07:25, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
