Page Existence

[edit]

First I am disclosing here that I do have a potential conflict of interest as administrator of the MCU Wiki. I am not using the template simply because I'm not requesting a specific edit, but rather that the page exist. There are multiple reliable news sources specifically discussing the MCU Wiki, including CBR, The Direct, and ScreenRant, as well as scholars discussing fan wikis in general, using the MCU Wiki as an example. Other academics have cited the wiki in their publishing, and there's relevant information to post by Fandom themselves (which satisfies Wikipedia:Citing self-published blogs per this apparent agreement). The Wiki has become notable in news sources and should have a page, and I am hoping that my being an admin on the wiki does not take away from that. I believe this draft would need some copyediting and some more coverage from earlier, if possible, in its history because a lot of it is more recent, and maybe more of its content, if applicable. I believe all of your edits to this draft (which, I want to thank you for!) fall inline with WP:COIEDIT especially since you created it as a draft first. I, having been a frequent editor of the MCU Wiki in the past, think it deserves an article on this encyclopedia and I have begun looking into some potential sites covering this wiki, such as this Fandom study results article it is mentioned in offering up some data. I don't think there will be a whole lot, though probably just enough to pass notability, similar to the recently-created ComicBook.com. I would also suggest looking at the article for Wookieepedia as a general reference. Trailblazer101 (talk) 01:58, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I added the information from the article you linked about the study results and began looking for some older sources, adding a few that I could find. I found one noting its coverage of Howard Stark and how rapidly it was updated due to an episode of Agent Carter, and another regarding the timeline project's process and its calculation of birthdays. I can keep looking, though the one about Howard is the only article I could find from prior to 2015. -Jessica3801 (talk) 05:42, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good work thus far! I know it is likely a stretch trying to find any non-wiki affiliated refs from earlier, so no worries about that. Just so you know, another content mod of the wiki attempted to create this article a few years back and has a rough draft started at their userspace here, if you're interested in that. I plan on redirecting that to this draft eventually. Trailblazer101 (talk) 23:59, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
