Thirukumaran Early Life
From being an ambitious assistant directed of the national award winning director A.R. Murugadoss who is well known to the cinema industry throughout the nation by directing back to back hits in Hindi and most predominantly in Tamil language, Thirukumaran has made his space in the cinema industry by making his debut in the year 2014 by directing a blockbuster tamil film – ‘Maan-Karate’.

Thirukumaran has paved his way to the cine industry as a professional film director, and it does not stop there. He has also been working as a screenplay writer, dialogue writer and a story writer. It is said that films have always been his call of nature and that is what you call as passion. Regarded as one of the greatest film makers of India, he has directed two films – Maan Karate and Gethu. Thirukumaran made his directorial debut, a fun filled entertainer – A Tamil film that deals with romance , sports, and comedy. film Maan Karate. The film was written and co-produced by AR Murugadoss and produced by P. Madhan under the banner of Escape Artists Motion Pictures. Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Hansika Motwani, who played roles of an ambitious aspiring boxer , and a girl next door respectively. Vamsi Krishna , played the role of a well established boxer with a negative shade in this film. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, which topped the playlist chart in the particular year with the scoring BGMs and the fresh breezy songs throughout the film. The cinematography was handled by M. Sukumar, who visually up scored the film’s grace. The movie was released on 4 April 2014.
The commercial success of the film established him as a leading filmmaker in Tamil cinema.
Thirukumaran also wrote and directed his second film- Gethu , which is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film ,Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. The film features himself in the lead role along with Amy Jackson who played the female lead throughout the film. The most versatile actor ,Sathyaraj played a supporting role, and starred Vikranth as the main antagonist. Featuring the music composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by Sukumar, the film was released on 14 January 2016.
The satellite rights of the film were sold to Sun TV. The film was then released on 14 January 2016, coinciding with Pongal.
