Thanks for that, actually seen those before, tbh would be good to expand the UNIVAC 490 with at least paragraph explaining a bit about differences between base 490 and other members of series (491, 492 and 494)

Thanks. I believe that selected documents from http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/univac/military/ should be cited in Draft:30-bit computing, AN/USQ-17, AN/USQ-20 and UNIVAC 490, and that https://vipclubmn.org/CP30bit.html, which Draft:30-bit computing already cites, should also be cited in AN/USQ-17, AN/USQ-20 and UNIVAC 490. -- Shmuel (Seymour J.) Draft rejection

So initial draft was rejected. Obviously need to broaden this out a bit. I think key areas that need further discussion are:

Military usage
FAA usage -- Univac provided system for Traffic control which lasted into the 1990's
Usage by NASA with regards to Apollo mission.
Perhaps mention that CDC 6600 series though a 60-bit machine used 30-bit instructions (as well as 15-bit instructions)

The 6600 had 12- and 24-bit instructions on the peripheral processors (PPs) in addition to 15- and 30-bit instructions on the central processor (PPs).
