Angel Javier Aviles Monzón (born February 16, 1996), known professionally as Yovngchimi, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He is considered as one of the best latin trap and drill artists by this time.[1] Before releasing his debut single "Glizzy'walk", he started his career by releasing freestyles. In 2022, he gained popularity with the release of his collaboration with Anuel AA "Diamantes en Mis Dientes". In his career, he collaborated with other artists such as Ñengo Flow, Eladio Carrión, De la Ghetto, Ozuna, among others.[2]

Career

The start of Yovngchimi's musical career was marked by his debut single "Glizzy'walk". A second version of the song titled "Glizzy Walk 2.0" came out, which was remixed later with the participation of American rapper Eladio Carrión. In 2022, Yovngchimi released another single with Carrión "Hellcat".[3]

On October 27, 2022, Yovngchimi released the single "QEPDC" with Ñengo Flow. On November 1, 2022, he collaborated with Anuel AA on the single "Diamantes en Mis Dientes", part of the latter's studio album LLNM2.[4] In the beginning of 2023, Yovngchimi released his collaboration with Ozuna "Quien Va a Frontiar".[5] Later, he appeared on De la Ghetto's single "Los Patos" along with Luar la L. On January 27, 2023, he released his single "Baby Father 2.0" with the participation of Myke Towers, Arcángel, Ñengo Flow and Yeruza.

In May 2023, Yovngchimi and DJ Drama released their collaborative mixtape Gangsta Grillz: Mvrda Gang. It features guest appearances by American rappers Rich The Kid and G Herbo.[6] On June 27, 2023, Yovngchimi took part of J Balvin's single "En Alta" with Omar Courtz, Quevedo, Mambo Kingz and DJ Luian.[7] Then, he released two singles - "Full of Diamonds" and "Baby" with Puerto Rican singer Lunay.[8] Yovngchimi featured on Bad Bunny's studio album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana in the song "Mercedes Carota". The song debuted at number 57 at the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which was Yovngchimi's first entry on the chart.[9]

On October 20, 2023, Yovngchimi and Dei V united forces on the song "Tu$$i", which was certified later with double-platinum certification by PROMUSICAE.[10] In November 2023, he released another collaboration "Switch" with Bryant Myers and Hydro. On December 8, 2023, Yongchimi released his debut studio album WLGS, which contains features by American aritst French Montana and American record producers Southside and Tay Keith.[11]

On March 15, 2024, Yovngchimi participated on the remix version of Pressure 9X19's song VVS Switch alongisde Anuel AA, Yovngchimi, Hades66, Luar la L and CDobleta.[12] Later, he appeared on Dei V's debut studio album Quien es Dei V? in the song "Ticke". In July, 2024, Yovngchimi collaborated with Anuel AA on the song "Baby Demon".
