- Comment: This article needs some work before it can be published. The overview section is written like a manual, and there is a lack of significant coverage on this feature. A better demonstration of notability and removal of manual-like content is a good start to getting this article published. OnlyNanotalk 14:46, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

YouTube Playables is a feature on the American online video sharing platform YouTube, designed to integrate interactive games into the YouTube experience. Launched in November 2023 as a YouTube Premium feature, the feature was released to select few countries to both desktop and mobile users.[1][2]
History
[edit]The Playables feature was introduced in November 2023, initially available only in select countries and regions. Users within these specific regions who had the YouTube Premium subscription gained access to the Playables feature. In April 2024, the Playables feature was launched globally, eliminating the requirement for a YouTube Premium subscription to access the feature.[1][3]
Upon its release, YouTube provided users with the option to deactivate the platform on March 28, 2024, if they were dissatisfied with the feature. However, as of April 2024, the feature remains active on the platform.[2]
Overview
[edit]This section is written like a manual or guide. |
To access YouTube Playables, users have to click on a compass icon located on the YouTube interface. A sidebar will appear on the left side of the screen. Users then have to scroll down to the bottom of the recommended menu apps showcased on the sidebar that appears after clicking the compass. When users click on the Playables icon, users will be directed to a page of interactive embedded games.[4]
If users stop playing a certain game on YouTube Playables, the application saves a file on the user's device. Users can access their game file through the YouTube application settings and delete their progress if desired. However, once the progress is deleted, users will need to restart the game from the beginning.[1]
