Yolanda Rochelle Flowers

Yolanda Rochelle Flowers is a former vocational trainer who ran for governor of Alabama in 2022. She was the first "woman of color" to win the nomination of a major party in a race for governor for in Alabama.[1] A Democrat, she was defeated by incumbent Republican governor Kay Ivey, the second woman to serve as governor of Alabama.[2]
