William E. Carson was a state legislator in Alabama. His brother High A. Carson also served in Alabama's state legislature. They both represented Lowndes County, Alabama. William served from 1872-1874 and Hugh from 1875-1879.[1]
Charles Carter Carson Sr., for whom a military base in Delaware is named, was one of their descendants.[1]
Both brothers were born in North Carolina. Carson is noted as having been a farm laborer, coroner, and tax assessor.[2]
