William Archibald Carter was the father of James Earl Carter Sr. and grandfather of Jimmy Carter.
Biography
[edit]Born to Littlebery (1829-1873) and Mary (1838-1873) Carter in Early Country, Georgia. There isn't much known about William's early life.
William became rich after he sold Lumber and Turpentine.
He was stabbed and shot in September 1903. Allegedly the perpetrators were two brothers named Tolliver.
