Warhammer The Old World is a 2024 miniature wargame by Games Workshop that simulates battles between armies using miniature figurines. Games are usually played on a large flat surface, but may often incorporate modifications to the surface called "terrain" to simulate geographical or constructed structures. Players take turns moving their armies, casting spells, and engaging in combat with many outcomes determined by dice rolls. The game is a prequel to the discontinued game Warhammer Fantasy Battles, taking place at an earlier time in the game's lore.
The game takes inspiration from works of fantasy, such as the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, and many works created for and around the game Dungeons and Dragons which Games Workshop once had the license to publish in the United Kingdom.
