Voltic Ghana Limited is one of the bottled water companies in Ghana. It was established in 1995 to produce and distribute Voltic Natural Mineral Water.[1] Voltic Ghana Limited is a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) [2] The company has certification in NOSA, FSMS, QMS and ISO. [2]
They are the only bottling plant in West Africa that is part of CCBA. The company started distributing Hollandia Valued Added Dairy products in 2019 and in April 2021, after the expansion of the plant in Akwadum to accommodate an additional production line, began producing Hollandia locally, in Ghana.[3]
Personnel
[edit]Flora Jika is the managing director of the company. She is a member of WUMEA (Wits University Mining Engineers Association) and SAIMM (South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy).[4]
Projects
[edit]During Citi FM's Help a Christmas Child initiative in 2018, Voltic Ghana Limited donated 20 cartons of club minerals, 40 cartons of Voltic mineral drinking water, 120 bags of Voltic sachet water, 10 cartons of Hollandia choco malt and five cartons of Hollandia milk to them.[5]
They provided Anwiam, Dantano, Otariso and Kabu communities with boreholes.[6] In the Central Region of Ghana, a total of 16,000 people in the Abakrampa and Asuansi communities benefited from them including two schools.[7] Voltic Ghana Limited directly empowered 900 women in 2018 along its value chain, these women received livelihood empowerment skills in financial literacy and savings.[8]
Voltic Ghana Limited also collaborated with Total Petroleum Ghana Limited to unveiled a plastic collection project to tackle proper management of plastic waste from households in the streets of Accra and Tema Metropolis.[9]
