Veronique Dorsey is a New Orleans-based gospel drummer and trumpet player. She is best known as one of the trumpet players for The Original Pinettes Brass Band, the first all-female brass band in New Orleans.[1]

Dorsey spent a brief period in 2013 as the band director of her alma mater, McDonogh 35, before handing the directorship of the band over to Lawrence Rawlins.[2] Dorsey is a practicing Catholic and currently plays the drums at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church where her mother, Veronica Downes-Dorsey, is the music and choir director.[1] Dorsey joined The Original Pinettes Brass Band in 2011. Prior to the introduction of Jazz Henry in the band’s lineup, Dorsey was the youngest member of the band.[1] She has been an instructor at the Roots of Music since 2023 and has worked in education for eleven years, specializing in English Language Arts.[3]
