From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Urban Fêtes, Inc. is an American company specializing in organizing arts and entertainment events.[citation needed] Founded in 2011 by Shannon Waldron, the company became known for popularizing silent parties, where participants use wireless headphones to listen to music from DJs on different channels, allowing for a personalized and noise-free musical experience.[1]

History and activities

[edit]

Headquartered in Chicago, United States, Urban Fêtes is known for creating innovative experiences at social events, fostering integration among participants through technology and music. Its silent parties utilize LED-lit headphones indicating the chosen channel (blue, green, or red), facilitating interaction among participants with similar musical tastes.[2]

In addition to silent parties, Urban Fêtes offers arts-based services for businesses and organizations, leveraging digital trends, social media, and brand partnerships to craft personalized strategies. The company has hosted events at renowned venues such as the SXSW Festival in Austin, Barcadia in New Orleans, and the A3C Music Festival in Atlanta.[3]

Philanthropic activities

[edit]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Urban Fêtes launched an initiative to produce and distribute reusable, non-medical masks in compliance with CDC guidelines. For every mask sold, the company donated another to healthcare workers or families in need. In partnership with rapper Jeezy, Urban Fêtes distributed over 1,000 masks to underserved communities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Detroit.[3]
