Positions

[edit]

USO's fundamental positions are laid out in its charter. It advocates for strong student participation in all educational matters, non-discriminatory and free access to education, and moderate harmonization of the education systems in Switzerland.

Currently, USO is particularly focused on Curriculum 21, exam-free university admission, and student rights.

Organization

[edit]

General Assembly

[edit]

The General Assembly is the supreme body of USO. It decides on the values and norms of the organization, elects the board, approves the annual accounts and budget, and serves as a platform for exchange for member organizations.

Board

[edit]

The board represents the association externally, implements the decisions of the General Assembly, organizes events for members, and selects the USO delegation in its umbrella organizations. The board consists of seven equal members, elected for one year. Only students of a secondary II school or those who have left such a school no more than three years ago can be board members.

The USO board organizes its work into departments. In total, the board is composed of 7 people occupying 12 departments.
