Cast
[edit]Production
[edit]Before his death in 2017, George A. Romero had been working on a final chapter to his Night of the Living Dead series. He had completed a treatment with the help of Paolo Zelati, and they had started working on the script together before Romero's death. Zelati approached Romero's widow, Suzanne Romero, to get permission to complete the script. She approved, and Zelati finished the script with screenwriters Joe Knetter and Robert L. Lucas. In April 2021, Suzanne Romero announced that she was shopping the script, seeking a director for the project.[2]
Roundtable Entertainment joined the project as production company and financier in August 2023, and there were plans to film in Puerto Rico in late 2023.[3] Brad Anderson was hired to direct the film in September 2023.[4] It was granted an interim agreement to perform casting activities before the end of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.[5] Principal photography is set to commence in March 2025.[1] By November 2024, Milla Jovovich and Betty Gabriel were cast in undisclosed roles.[1]
