Torres Pit (English: Torres Pit), whose real name is Bie Hung-yau (Chinese: 别洪優; pinyin: Pit Hung-yau), is a Hong Kong YouTuber.

Biography

[edit]

He attended Keifat Primary School in Kwun Tong. When he was in Grade 4, the school moved to Yau Tong and he attended the Chinese Christian Church Keifat Primary School (Yau Tong). His English name in primary school was Peter Pit. After graduating from Fujian Middle School in 2014, he successfully entered the University of Hong Kong and graduated from the Department of Urban Planning of the Faculty of Architecture in 2018.[1]. In 2015, he was spotted by the producer of the "Shenjiefang" program on Tudou.com and served as the host of the program for two years. The content of the interviews revolved around views on love and sex. Due to its theme, the video was widely circulated in mainland China and was hailed as the "ancestor of the neighbourhood craze."[2]. In 2018, Toge began to attract attention with his two films singing "Everyone laughs, don't shed tears" and "Cracking the longest name in history" on the subway[2][3]. In the same year, Togo opened his YouTube channel, shooting short videos comparing the cultural differences between Hong Kong and foreign countries. Togo has been dating his girlfriend Georgia Gordon from South Africa since 2017. [2] [4]. On September 26, 2019, the South China Morning Post reported that Toko had co-founded a company with fugitives from the 1MDB scandal.[5].
