Leonard Tomide Akinribido, SSA to the Ondo State Governor on ICT (born 1988) is a Nigerian politician and public servant. He currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Ondo State Governor on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and oversees the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). He was formerly a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Ondo West Constituency 1 from 2019 to 2023.[1]

Political Career

Akinribido was elected to the Ondo State House of Assembly in 2019, representing Ondo West Constituency 1, under the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).[2] During his tenure, he became known for his active representation of his constituency, but later moved to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) before his unsuccessful re-election bid in 2023.[3]

In December 2024, Akinribido decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his appointment as the SSA to the Governor on ICT.[4]

Awards and Recognition

In recognition of his contributions during his time at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Akinribido was awarded the Ondo State Legislator of the Year in 2021 by Hero Magazine.[5]

Appointment as SSA on ICT

In 2024, Akinribido was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on ICT. He has since taken charge of driving the state's digital transformation agenda through the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). In his maiden address, he emphasized the vision of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to make Ondo State’s economy ICT-driven, urging the staff at SITA to be prepared for the fast-paced changes required.[6]
