Dr. Tobias Meyer (born in 1975) is a German business executive and the CEO the DHL Group.

He has been a member of the Deutsche Post DHL Group Board of Management since April 2019, initially responsible for the Post & Parcel Germany division. Since July 2022, he has been in charge of the Global Business Services unit. In May 2023 he succeed Frank Appel as CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group in May 2023. Later the company was renamed to DHL Group.[1]

Early life and education

Tobias Meyer was born in Schwalmstadt, northern Hesse, Germany. He studied industrial engineering with a focus on aeronautical engineering at the Technical University Darmstadt, where he received a doctorate in mechanical engineering.[2]

Professional experience

From 2001 to 2013, Tobias Meyer worked as a consultant for McKinsey in Frankfurt, Germany, and Singapore, becoming a partner in 2010.

In 2013, he joined Deutsche Post DHL Group as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development. In 2015, Meyer became COO of the DHL Global Forwarding division, and from 2018 to 2019, he was COO of the Post & Parcel Germany division.

In 2019, Meyer became a member of the Deutsche Post DHL Group Board of Management, in charge of Post & Parcel Germany. Since July 2022, he has been the Board Member responsible for Global Business Services.[2]

Personal Life

Meyer has been a glider pilot since the age of 13.[3]
