"To Serve Russia" (Russian: "Служить России") is a Russian patriotic song written in the early 2000s.
Usage
[edit]"To Serve Russia" was composed either Russian composer Ilya Reznik or the Belorussian composer Eduard Khanok in the early 2000s.[1][2] An instrumental variant of the song was featured in the 2008 Moscow Victory Day Parade, celebrating the triumph of Russia over Nazi Germany.[3] In each parade, the song has been played during the infantry column precession.[4]
Lyrics
[edit]"To Serve Russia" was performed by the famous Alexandrov Ensemble (commonly referred to as the Red Army Choir).[5][6]

The regiments marched as a single wall,
Very straight and in order And the standard shudder proudly, Commander and soldier - a single destiny We are forever bounded, my friend To serve Russia is our destiny for you and me, To serve Russia, this incredible country Where the new sun rises in the blue sky Shoulder to shoulder the Russian troops march And even if the military road isn't easy, We'll go with faith and truth to serve Russia No fearless in battle We have saved the Russian flag And our birthplace and our songs And if disaster comes, then with you We will defend our country, my friend To serve Russia is our destiny for you and me, To serve Russia, this incredible country Where the new sun rises in the blue sky Shoulder to shoulder the Russian troops march And even if the military road isn't easy, We'll go with faith and truth to serve Russia The regiments marched as a single wall, Very straight and in order And the standard shudder proudly, Commander and soldier - a single destiny We are forever bounded, my friend To serve Russia is our destiny for you and me, To serve Russia, this incredible country Where the new sun rises in the blue sky Shoulder to shoulder the Russian troops march And even if the military road isn't easy, We'll go with faith and truth to serve Russia To serve Russia is our destiny for you and me, To serve Russia, this incredible country Where the new sun rises in the blue sky Shoulder to shoulder the Russian troops march And even if the military road isn't easy, We'll go with faith and truth to serve Russia |
