The Voice of Others

The Voice Of Others (La Voix des autres) is a short French drama film directed by Fatima Kaci as part of her studies at La Fémis.

Selected at the Cinéfondation [1], [2] in Cannes, she received the Lights on Women Awards in 2023[3][4][[5].

Synopsis

Rim, Tunisian, works in France as an interpreter for asylum seekers. Every day, she translates the stories of exiled men and women whose voices question her own history.

The filmmaker

Fatima Kaci is a French screenwriter and director[6], born in 1992 of Algerian parents. Trained at La Fémis, she wrote and directed the documentary Terre d'Ombre (38min)[7] in 2021. In 2022, the short film Pièces détachées (26min) and in 2023, the short film La voix des autres (30min).

She is currently developing her first feature film.
