The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is an upcoming American historical drama film directed by Leslye Headland. It is an adaptation by Liz Tigelaar of the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Premise
[edit]An aging film star from Hollywood's Golden Age chooses a young journalist to be her biographer.[1]
Production
[edit]On March 24, 2022, it was announced that Netflix will be adapting the novel into a feature film with Liz Tigelaar[2] writing and Margaret Chernin executive producing.[3][4] The film will be directed by Leslye Headland.[5] The book's author Taylor Jenkins Reid was announced by Netflix to be an executive producer on the film.[6]
Casting
[edit]In December 2023, despite links to the role, Jessica Chastain ruled herself out of playing Evelyn Hugo.[7]
