The Gayly, formerly known as The Gayly Oklahoman, is a statewide newspaper for the LGBT community in Oklahoma. Founded in 1983, it is headquartered in Oklahoma City and currently published out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.[1]
The Gayly Oklahoman covers a broad array of issues relevant to its target audience. Its name is a twist on the name of The Daily Oklahoman (now called just The Oklahoman), the state's largest newspaper.
The paper recieved the Fran Morris Civil Liberties in Media Award in 2004, from the American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma.[2]
The Gayly Oklahoman closed in December of 2006.[1] It worked in exposing the organization 'Oklahomans For Children And Families.'
It was revived in 2011.[3]
