The Dog Stars is an upcoming film directed by Ridley Scott, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Peter Heller.
Production
[edit]On November 1, 2024, Ridley Scott stated in an interview that after shooting a planned Bee Gees biopic You Should Be Dancing, he wanted to next direct a then-unrevealed sci-fi film, adding that "it's already written."[1] By November 8, this project was confirmed to be based on the 2012 novel The Dog Stars by Peter Heller, adapted by Mark L. Smith. By this time, it was set to be Scott's next film, with production start planned for spring 2025.[2][3]
Casting
[edit]On 8 November 2024, it was announced that Paul Mescal was in advanced negotiations to star in the film.[2]
