The Demographic is an American hard rock band formed in 2009 by vocalist/guitarist Tom Pappalardo (The No-Shadow Kick) and drummer Sturgis Cunningham (MC Frontalot, The Monkees) in western Massachusetts. They performed for many years as a guitar/drum duo before adding bassist Marc Seedorf (Dinosaur Jr.) for the recording of 2021's Hiatus. Their bassist is currently Aaron Borucki.

In 2010, Pappalardo described the band's songwriting process:^[1]

“

...the approach we took right from the start was really sparse arrangements: no big intros, no big outros, no bridges on some, no choruses on some.

”

They have released three albums^[2] and three digital-only EPs & singles^[3]. The Demographic occasionally plays^[4] as an acoustic duo.
