Tastemakers Magazine is the music magazine run by students at Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts[1]. Founded in 2006[2], it publishes four print issues per year, and publishes online year-round.
Recurring content includes album reviews, concert reviews, interviews with music professionals, essays, and concert photography.[3] As of 2023, across its writing, design, photography, and promotions departments, the magazine has more than 150 student members.
In 2024, the club lost access to its office in Northeastern's Curry Student Center as part of a university-wide push to repurpose office space[4].
Events
[edit]The magazine puts on a concert every semester called Tastemakers Presents, frequently held in Northeastern's AfterHours venue[5]. Past performers include: Purity Ring[6], Titus Andronicus, Thundercat, Parquet Courts, Car Seat Headrest, TV Girl, Lucy Dacus, Samia, Mannequin Pussy, and illuminati hotties[7]
