Draft:Take Take Take (Chess App)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Take Take Take is a new chess app developed by five-time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, aimed at turning chess into a more accessible, engaging spectator sport.

The app brings live-action updates, real-time commentary, and interactive tools for fans to track tournaments and analyze moves as they happen. Users can replay pivotal moments, discuss strategies, and receive alerts on the latest chess news, fostering a dynamic chess community.

Launched in October 2024, Take Take Take aims to make chess both competitive and social in fresh, innovative ways

The app arrives at a time when chess is gaining unprecedented global interest, partly due to Carlsen’s legacy as a five-time World Champion and influential chess ambassador. Carlsen, who also co-founded Play Magnus in 2014 (acquired by Chess.com in 2022), partnered with Mats Andre Kristiansen of Fantasy Chess to launch Take Take Take. The new app focuses on creating an “elevated yet casual” environment compared to existing platforms like Chess.com and Twitch, aiming to captivate audiences without overwhelming them with advanced technical jargon. The app is free, and its monetization strategy may later incorporate ads or in-depth analysis subscriptions, depending on its user base growth.
