Takaaki Sano (佐野 貴明, 1982 - ) is a Japanese photographer.
His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. In 2021, he was shortlisted in the competition themed "MEMORIES" for "IMAnext," hosted by amana, with the selection made by judge Tim Barber.[1]
In 2024, his solo exhibition "Hidden," held at the gallery "Liike" in Daikanyama, Tokyo, was featured in various media and achieved the highest visitor count of his career.[2]
Biography
[edit]Sano was born in Adachi City, Tokyo, Japan. At the age of 13, he became a school refuser and spent approximately seven years as a recluse.[3]
In 2002, he passed the University Entrance Qualification Examination and went on to study at Santa Monica College in the United States. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in liberal arts.[3]
In 2015, he held his first solo exhibition in Shanghai. The exhibition garnered significant attention, particularly from young people, and he has since participated in several solo and group exhibitions both in Japan and abroad.[4]
