Stop-Motion is the debut album by singer-songwriter Ginger Winn..[1] The album "Stop-Motion" was released on June 7, 2024, under the Keep Good Company Records[2] label. It was produced by David Baron, known for his work with artists like The Lumineers[3], Noah Kahan, and Shawn Mendes[4].

Stop-Motion is a ten-track album meticulously planned over several months before being swiftly recorded in just three weeks.

The album features a compilation of personal narratives and the experiences of others, with each song reflecting Ginger Winn's observations and unique perspective. Notably, the track, "8:48," which is the fifth track on the Stop-Motion album, present a poignant story.

The song recounts the events of September 11, 2001, focusing on a couple engaged in an argument on that fateful morning. Concerned about being late for work, one partner leaves in the midst of the disagreement, choosing not to answer phone calls while driving. Upon arriving early at one of the Twin Towers with either minutes to spare, the individual decides to remain upset and forgo making an apology. This decision tragically turns out to be their final opportunity to reconcile, as the September 11 attacks occurred shortly thereafter.

"8:48" resonates with many individuals who have experienced the lasting trauma from the attacks, which have also resulted in various health issues, including cancers[5], for people who were living and working around the area during the attacks. Those affected by the September 11 attacks can access health benefits through the World Trade Center Health Program[6] and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund[7].

In an interview with Atwood Magazine[8], Ginger Winn states that while it's hard to choose her favorite song from the album, "Pitta Patta" is a top contender. She goes on to say that it speaks to who she is as a person, what she enjoys doing, and what defined her as a child.

Music videos for several of the songs from Stop-Motion are available on Ginger Winn's YouTube channel[9], such as 'Frosting', 'Off-Course', and 'Super 8'. The music video for 'Averna' was filmed in Italy, according to an interview with Music Is To Blame[10]

Stop-Motion can be listened to on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and more.
