Startup Different is the book and podcast from brothers and business co-founders, David and Chris Sinkinson.[1] The podcast regularly interviews startup founder guests and also consists of discussion of these interviews by the brothers.
In 2011, the brothers founded "AppArmor", a company that builds personal mobile safety apps for end users.[2] The brothers describe their experience as "different" in that they did not agree with or pursue many common startup strategies. In their book, Startup Different: The Myth-Busting Blueprint for your Multi-Million Dollar Business, they address over 33 different startup "myths".[3]
In 2022 AppArmor was acquired by Rave Mobile Safety.[4] In 2023, Rave Mobile Safety was acquired by Motorola Solutions for $560 million.[5]
