Sri Rajarajeshwari Ammavari Temple is located in the heart of the Nellore town, just 2 kms away from the local bus stop and railway station.[1] It is very easily accessible as it is on the main Grand trunk-road. Devi Rajarajeswari is a powerful goddess of Hindus, and here the goddess looks in a calm and pleasant face. Sarannavaratrulu is the famour celebration for this temple.[2]
History
[edit]Sri Rajarajeshwari Ammavari Devasthanam is a prominent temple located in Nellore City, Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple was established with the support of Sri Sankaran, the then District Collector, who allocated the Land.[3]
In 1968, the temple received a significant blessing when Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekhar Saraswati Swamigal, the head of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, consecrated it with divine rituals. On March 6, 1975, a Kumbhabhishekam ceremony was performed by Sri Sri Sri Jayendra Sarvaswathi Swamigal from the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, alongside the head of the Sringeri Peetham.
The temple was constructed through the efforts of Swargiya Ratnaswami Modiliar, who financed the project with donations from numerous devotees.[4]
In addition to the main shrine, the temple complex houses several sub-temples, including Sri Gayatri Ammavari Devasthanam, Sri Sundareswara Swami Vari Devasthanam, and Navagraha Mandapams.
