Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB) is the promotional and research body for the peacful application of Nuclear Science and Technology in Sri Lanka. It is statutary board belonging to the Sri Lankan government. The SLAEB was established in 2015 under the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Act No.40 of 2014 and is the successor to the Atomic Energy Authority of Sri Lanka (AEA) which was established under the previous atomic energy act of Sri Lanka, the Atomic Energy Authority Act No.19 of 1969. It also functions as the national focal point for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Sri Lanka [1].
