TitleWritten byOriginal air date
11"Mario, che costruiva la pace"Valerio CataldiDecember 18, 2020 (2020-12-18)
"Rainews 24's investigative trip to Colombia, on the trail of Mario Paciolla, the young United Nations volunteer who died in still unclear circumstances. We start again from San Vicente del Caguan, in Caquetà, the region where Mario had been engaged for two years in operations to facilitate the peace process started with the 2016 Cuba agreements, between the Colombian government and the FARC, the Colombian revolutionary armed forces. There are still many open questions, to which an answer has been awaited from the United Nations Mission for 5 months. First of all those relating to the tampering with Mario's apartment, from which objects disappeared, taken by the Mission's security manager, as he himself admitted, and thrown away. By Valerio Cataldi"
22"Rsa fuori controllo"Maria Elena ScandaliatoJanuary 29, 2021 (2021-01-29)
"Maria Elena Scandaliato's investigation into the lack of checks in the RSAs[N 1] of Milan in the first period of the pandemic. The episode of Spotlight, the Rainews24 investigative programme, starts from the dozens of complaints from those days and tries to reconstruct what happened through exclusive interviews and unpublished documents."
33"Divieto di accesso. La storia che Ilaria e Miran non hanno potuto raccontare"Luca Gaballo with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoMarch 19, 2021 (2021-03-19)
"March 20, 1994, Mogadishu: Ilaria Alpi and Miran Hrovatin are murdered in an ambush. A story still without culprits, but full of red herrings. The Spotlight investigation"
44"I 600 corpi l'identità cancellata dei desaparecidos"Maria Elena Scandaliato and Alessandra SolarinoMarch 21, 2021 (2021-03-21)
"On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the military coup in Argentina, the day in which the over 30 thousand desaparecidos, who disappeared during the dictatorship from 1976 to 1983, are celebrated, an investigation on the traces of two former South American officers who fled to Italy, Carlos Sick Argentine military and Josè Nestor Troccoli from Uruguayan. The EAAF[N 2], the Forensic Anthropology Team, recovered 1500 bodies in mass graves and identified 850 of them thanks to DNA. Another 600 bodies are still unnamed. Among these there could be 65 Italians, who disappeared into thin air in these days of ferocious military dictatorship. By Maria Elena Scandaliato and Alessandra Solarino. The investigation is a co-production with Telam, Argentina's state news agency."
55"Sommersi. I naufragi senza soccorso nelle intercettazioni della procura di Trapani"Valerio Cataldi and Maria Elena Scandaliato with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoApril 16, 2021 (2021-04-16)[1]
"The inertia of the Libyan Coast Guard in the rescue actions of migrants in the central Mediterranean emerges from the documents of the Trapani investigation. The new episode of Spotlight's exclusive investigation, in collaboration with The Guardian and Domani, reconstructs some tragic episodes of the summer of 2017, which saw the death of dozens of people. It's mid-June, the Italian Coast Guard calls Tripoli, announcing a dozen shipwrecks in progress. The moments are tense, the dinghies full of migrants are in difficulty in Libyan waters. The response of the Coast Guard of the North African country leaves the Italian officers speechless: it is Friday, a day of celebration, the chief officer is not on duty. A second episode - reconstructed by the exclusive investigation - reconstructs the shipwreck of a boat with hundreds of people on board, which occurred on 24 May 2017. While the boat is at the mercy of the waters, fifty times from Rome they call Tripoli, without get an answer. This is the scenario that emerges from the interceptions of three officers of the Libyan Coast Guard, contained within the 30 thousand pages of the Trapani investigation. An inertia that will ultimately see dozens of people die in the waters between Italy and Libya."
66"Intercettati. Le anomalie dell'inchiesta sulle Ong"Valerio Cataldi and Maria Elena Scandaliato with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoApril 19, 2021 (2021-04-19)
"Five journalists intercepted without being investigated. Five lawyers intercepted while talking to their clients. From the Trapani investigation into NGOs[N 3], an "investigative system" emerges which Justice Minister Marta Cartabia, who has already sent inspectors, also wants to see clearly. But what is known so far is only the tip of the iceberg. Preview / The words of the jurist and former Keeper of the Seals Giovanni Maria Flick In the 30 thousand pages filed, thousands of interceptions apparently irrelevant for investigative purposes, which also involve Parliamentarians and Prefects, are transcribed. An operation to listen to anyone involved in migration, Libya, human rights. A story that Rainews 24, The Guardian and Domani are able to tell through a joint investigation, which united the editorial staff in an unprecedented journalistic operation that will be published simultaneously by the 3 newspapers on the web, on TV and on newsstands. An investigation that analyzes in detail the 30 thousand pages of the Trapani investigation"
77"L'isola del tesoro. Pirati e corsari del trading on line"Luca GaballoMay 14, 2021 (2021-05-14)
"They pass it off as online trading but it is a diabolical mechanism that targets the weakest and every year makes the savings of thousands of Italians disappear. Spotlight shines a light on the aggressive tactics used by many companies that operate in the European Union, strong in authorizations issued outside of Italy, but which openly violate the law. These platforms spend a lot on advertising, hire famous actors, sponsor Serie A football teams. Treasure Island is a story that crosses Italy, collects the testimonies of the victims, the authorities and lands on the coasts of the island of Cyprus, where many of these platforms are based. By Luca Gaballo."
88"Rifiuti illegali, la rotta tunisina"Salah Methnani and Manuela LasagnaMay 16, 2021 (2021-05-16)
"Spotlight reconstructs through exclusive documents and footage the waste trafficking between Italy and Tunisia, which is being investigated by the Italian and Tunisian judiciary and which has already led to the arrest of the Tunisian Minister of the Environment. Everything revolves around the lack of adequate facilities in Tunisia for the recycling of the 8 thousand tons of waste that left Campania. By Salah Methnani and Manuela Lasagna in collaboration with the investigative journalism network IRPImedia."
99"Nessuno può togliermi ciò che ho ballato. Storia di Roberto Morrione, giornalista d'inchiesta"Valerio Cataldi and Luca GaballoMay 19, 2021 (2021-05-19)
"On May 20, 2011, Roberto Morrione left us, a rigorous journalist, founder and first director of Rainews, who wrote important pages of information in the history of the Public Service. Valerio Cataldi and Luca Gaballo reconstruct the path in which he guided us through the darkest pages of recent history. A journey to the notes of proud music and one of his most famous phrases that he repeated to underline the commitment and rigor in the investigations that he strongly supported: "No one can take away the tango that I danced"."
1010"Legati al letto. Storie di psichiatria e di abusi della contenzione"Maria Elena Scandaliato and Alessandro SolarinoJune 3, 2021 (2021-06-03)
"Part 1Almost fifty years ago Antonia Bernardini burned to death on the restraint bed in the criminal asylum of Pozzuoli. She had been tied up for 43 days. In 2019, a 19-year-old girl, Elena Casetto, died in flames while tied to the bed, in the hospital of Bergamo. We have closed the asylums, but people still die tied up in places of care. And from psychiatric wards, restraint has entered facilities for the elderly, places of assistance for the disabled, and covid wards. The new episode of Spotlight investigates mechanical restraint, a non-therapeutic practice that divides the psychiatric world, between those who consider it a torture that should never be practiced, and those who use it as a last resort in the event of imminent danger that cannot be avoided otherwise. While in most cases precise protocols are put in place to avoid risks to the patient's health, there is a grey area, that of abuse and submerged restraint, which leaves no trace in the medical records. And this is the theme at the center of the investigation 'Bound to the bed. Stories of psychiatric patients and abuse of restraint' by Maria Elena Scandaliato and Alessandra Solarino."
1111"Legati al letto. Storie di pazienti psichiatrici e di abusi della contenzione."Maria Elena Scandaliato and Alessandro SolarinoJune 11, 2021 (2021-06-11)
"Part 2 Mechanical restraint, the practice of tying people up for reasons that have nothing to do with therapy. A device that has spread from psychiatric wards to other places of care. But there are also diagnosis and treatment services where not tying up has become a working method. The second and final part of the investigation by Maria Elena Scandaliato and Alessandra Solarino, Second episode."
1212"La rete silenziosa. Chi ha protetto i criminali di guerra delle SS? – Prima parte"Valerio Cataldi with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoJune 18, 2021 (2021-06-18)
"Spotlight, Rainews' weekly investigative magazine, investigates a clandestine network that American secret services activated after the war to support Nazi war criminals in an anti-communist function. Unpublished documents reveal that the structure was headed by Karl Hass, one of the SS officers responsible for the Fosse Ardeatine massacre. A dark thread that reaches up to the present day. Part one - by Valerio Cataldi with the collaboration of Andrea Palladino"
1313"La rete silenziosa. Chi ha protetto i criminali di guerra delle SS? – Seconda parte"Valerio Cataldi with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoJune 24, 2021 (2021-06-24)
Part two - by Valerio Cataldi with the collaboration of Andrea Palladino"
1414"La pecora nera. L'ombra della P2 dietro la strage impunita del treno"Valerio Cataldi with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoJuly 22, 2021 (2021-07-22)
"August 4, 1974, The Italicus train massacre in which 12 people lost their lives. An attack that has yet to be convicted of either the perpetrators or the instigators. The key witness, Alessandra De Bellis, wife of Augusto Cauchi, a central figure of the neo-fascist right in Tuscany, is silenced, forced to forget. She is the 'black sheep'. Behind her story and that of the Italicus lies the shadow of P2. Spotlight, the investigation by Valerio Cataldi with the collaboration of Andrea Palladino"
1515"Prima della strage. I sei mesi di preparazione della strage di Bologna"Valerio Cataldi with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoJuly 31, 2021 (2021-07-31)
"41 years ago the Bologna massacre, 85 dead and over 200 injured. While another anniversary is being celebrated, the truth is still being sought in the courts with the so-called trial of the instigators. This is the focus of the episode of Spotlight, the investigative program on Rainews, which with exclusive documents and interviews tells the unspeakable behind-the-scenes of the alliance between black terrorists and secret services to carry out and sidetrack the most ferocious attack since the post-war period. Spotlight, Before the massacre, by Valerio Cataldi with our collaborator Andrea Palladino"
1515"Le pietre scomparse. La memoria dei borghi terremotati persa tra le macerie"Alfredo Di GiovampaoloAugust 22, 2021 (2021-08-22)
"On August 24, 2016, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Central Italy. Five years later, the first cranes and construction sites appeared. But what happened to the stones of the houses and historic buildings destroyed by the earthquake? Spotlight investigates the memory of those stones, carried away by bulldozers and disappeared into thin air. Those stones that the inhabitants of the villages are asking for their return, for reconstruction. An investigation by Alfredo Di Giovampaolo"

161"Nella tana del serpente. Le truffe online viste da vicino"Luca GaballoSeptember 17, 2021
"It is estimated that European citizens lose billions of euros every year on online investment sites. It only takes 24 hours to set up a trading platform. There are hundreds of them online, they spring up and die like mushrooms. But this is only possible because there is a sophisticated and well-protected industrial system that provides scammers with everything they need. Through the documents seized by various European police forces and thanks to exclusive testimonies we reconstruct this system. Spotlight, the investigation by Luca Gaballo"
172"3 Ottobre. Il naufragio di Lampedusa ancora senza verità"Valerio Cataldi and Raffaella CosentinoSeptember 30, 2021
"On the night of October 3, 2013, a boat sank half a mile off the coast of Lampedusa. There were 368 deaths. A shipwreck that could have been avoided. At least two boats approached but did not rescue the migrants, just before the boat capsized. The crew of one of those boats was identified and convicted in the first instance. The mystery of the second boat remains, disappeared from all trials, but remained etched in the memories of the survivors. The Spotlight investigation was born from the request for truth and justice of the survivors and the families of the victims of the tragedy. And through interviews and unpublished documents it reconstructs what happened that night. The investigation by Valerio Cataldi and Raffaella Cosentino"
183"Vaccini e fascismi. Come l'ultradestra ha conquistato le piazze no vax"Valerio Cataldi with collaboration from Andrea PalladinoOctober 13, 2021
"The conspiracy theory is the engine that fuels the Roman anti-vax square that Forza Nuova and the far right have led since the beginning of the pandemic. Spotlight has followed the movements of those squares for months, reconstructing the rise of the fascists and observing, in parallel, the growth of those networks that have made a real fortune on conspiracy theories. The investigation by Valerio Cataldi with the collaboration of Andrea Palladino"
194"Rifiuti, la rotta dei Balcani. Il green deal bulgaro e le ecoballe italiane"Manuela LasagnaNovember 2, 2021
"In 2019 alone, forty thousand tons of non-hazardous special waste imported from Bulgaria came from Italy. But not all shipments are irregular. Spotlight followed the tracks of the illicit traffic that leads from Italy to Bulgaria. An uninterrupted flow that in recent years has fueled the difficult ecological transition of the Balkan country, favored by a growing number of fixers and front men, often linked to organized crime. The investigation by Manuela Lasagna"
205"Scomparse. Storie di femminicidi di 'ndrangheta"Raffaella CosentinoNovember 26, 2021
"Killed, torn to pieces, disappeared into thin air because of the distorted sense of honor of the men of the 'ndrine. Dozens of women are victims of mafia feminicides. Many trials have never been held because of the absence of the body, others have ended with the acquittal of the defendants. Despite the evidence, the wiretaps, despite the evidence. Spotlight tells some of these stories to tell all the women who have had the courage to rebel against the 'ndrangheta. The investigation by Raffaella Cosentino"
216"Rimetti a noi i nostri debiti. Come uscire dall'incubo e ricominciare a vivere"Luca GaballoNovember 28, 2021
"Homes foreclosed and sold off at a fraction of their value, owners who are left homeless and even in debt for life. In Italy there are hundreds of thousands. They cannot open a bank account, get a credit card, they are excluded from society. It is the legacy of a crisis that exploded in 2008 and never really ended. The procedure to cut debts exists but is unknown, expensive and complicated. In neighboring France everything is different. It is not the courts that deal with these situations, but social services together with the Bank of France, quickly and free of charge. Debt relief in 2020 in France was 120 thousand, in our country, a hundred times less. The resurrection of a country that has not grown for twenty-five years also depends on these mechanisms. Investigation by Luca Gaballo"
227"Anatomia di una rivolta. Inchiesta sui 9 morti nel carcere Sant'Anna di Modena. Prima parte"Maria Elena Scandaliato and Giulia Bondi with Raffaella CosentinoDecember 16, 2021
"The nine inmates who died during the riot in the Modena prison on March 8, 2020. Deaths on which the Tunisian judiciary has just opened an investigation for suspicious deaths. Spotlight reconstructs with testimonies and unpublished documents what happened at Sant'Anna in Modena. The investigation by Rainews24 and TGR, signed by Maria Elena Scandaliato and Giulia Bondi with Raffaella Cosentino"
