SportyBet is an online gambling company licensed to operate in the continent of Africa including countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, and Uganda.[1][2][3][4]
History
[edit]SportyBet was founded by Sudeep Dalamal Ramnani in 2013 under the company of Sporty Group.[5][6] The online gambling company features bookies on various sport.[7][8][9]
Controversy
[edit]On the 12 of May 2024 a viral video was made by a Nigerian man calling out the betting platform for not releasing his money.[10] In June 2024, the betting company increases their max payout from 80 million Naira to 100 million Naira to its Nigerian gamblers.[11][12][13]
Sponsors
[edit]In March 2022, SportyBet announces it's partnership deal with the football team, Real Madrid.[14] [15][16] Later in the year 2023, Oluchi Enuha who was the Sporty Group’s brand director announces another partnership deal with the football team Manchester City F.C..[17][18] The company also renewed their partnership contract with the former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.[19][20]
