Spooky Jack is a upcoming American animated comedy horror film. It is directed by David Soren, and screenplay by Robert Ben Garant. The film stars Keke Palmer, Blue Ivy Carter, Craig Robinson, Shamon Brown Jr., Danielle Brooks and Matthew Rhys.

Development at DreamWorks Animation

On September 19, 2017, DreamWorks Animation announced an original feature called Spooky Jack, with Jason Blum serving as an executive producer under his Blumhouse Productions banner.[1]

Shift to Paramount

In October 2024, it was announced that Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies had picked up Spooky Jack earlier in the year, and would be releasing on its theatrically in Halloween 2027. DNEG Animation was announced as the project's animation partner.

Casting

In January 2025, it was reported that Keke Palmer, Blue Ivy Carter, Craig Robinson, Shamon Brown Jr., Danielle Brooks and Matthew Rhys were announced as part of the cast.

Music

In April 2025, it was announced that John Debney, who had previously worked with Soren on Under the Boardwalk (2023).

Release

Spooky Jack is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 22, 2027. The film was scheduled to release on September 17, 2021.[2][3] In October 2019, Spooky Jack lost its release date to Universal's The Bad Guys, indicating a possible delay.[4]
