Throughout the years South Preston Middle School has gone by many names. In it's opening it was a high school, later it would turn into a middle school. In 2009, the main section of the building was deemed unsafe, causing the displacement of the sixth and seventh grade students. Finally in 2015 100 years after it's opening the school would officially close due to the consolidation with Tunnelton-Denver Elementary School.
