- Comment: A majority of sources currently present are from blogs or are otherwise not organizations with reputations for fact checking or accuracy. Please review Wikipedia:Notability. Doing a cursory search on Google myself is telling me that this topic simply isn't there yet. Draft submitter is cautioned that continual re-submittance with inadequate sourcing may result in a future reviewer rejecting the draft, which will block further submission. Feel free to reach out to me or at the Wikipedia:Teahouse for help. —Sirdog (talk) 04:10, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Fails WP:GNG, requires significant coverage in multiple independent secondary sources. The sourcery.tcg website is a primary source, as is interviews with the game's creator. Reddit is not an acceptable source either. Dan arndt (talk) 04:43, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
Sorcery: Contested Realm (colloquially known as Sorcery) is a tabletop collectible card game created by Eric Olofson of Eric's Curiosa Ltd.[1] The game was released during May of 2023 after a successful Kickstarter campaign which ended on 4th of April 2022 with a total of NZ$ 5,784,804 pledged by 6,456 backers. Sorcery is notable for its focus on hand painted art from prominent fantasy artists such as Frank Frazetta, Liz Danforth, Jeff Easley, and many others.[2]
The game's first release was the Alpha Set consisting of 403[3][4] different playable cards. The Alpha Set had a print run of 29000 boxes.[5]
Following the Kickstarter exclusive Alpha Set, the Beta Set was released to retail stores October of 2023.[1] Cards are obtained from booster packs with special extremely rare Curio Cards, which relate to the historical development of the game.[6]
Arthurian Legends, a booster set focused on Arthurian mythology, was released to retail on October 4, 2024. The new set contained 220 additional cards and featured new gameplay mechanics.[7]
Overview
[edit]Sorcery is played by two players depicted by their 'Avatar' cards on a 5x4 playing field called 'The Realm' with each player having their own deck of cards split into two parts: 'The Atlas' and 'The Spellbook'. The game's goal is reducing their opponents life total to zero.[8]
