Sofia Rose is an American plus-size pornographic film actress, social media influencer and fashion model.[3] She has been critically acclaimed for her pioneering work within the BBW genre of the adult entertainment industry.[4]
Biography
[edit]Sofia Rose was born on 24 July 1975 in Los Angeles, California. Her mother was ________ while her father was a first-generation Mexican-American who was born in the United States.[5] By her own account, she personally aligns with the Chicano subculture - especially prominent within the State of California.
Prior to becoming pornographic actress, Sofia worked in the American corporation sector for large Fortune 500 companies like Frito-Lay, Inc. Come 2006, she left the corporate world after finding success within the adult entertainment industry. [6]
Rose entered the sex industry near the end of 2006.[7] In regards to her stage name, she went with the given name of 'Sofia' in homage to iconic Italian movie star Sophia Loren whereas the surname 'Rose' was derived from her mother's stage name, Lydia Rose.
Sofia Rose is a passionate advocate for body positivity and self-acceptance.[8] She encourages her fans to embrace their individuality.[9] Additionally, Rose has also spoken out against domestic violence, having been a survivor of such in a previous relationship where her partner was physically abusive.[10]
In 2020, Sofia Rose received the AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year.[11]
