SP convention Nasik in 1938 AND moved the political resolution, reviewing whole pol situation, including the plan of INC to prohibit parties within INC. In AND speech argued no other option that SP leave INC. JP supported stance of AND. Following departure from INC few days later AND and 11 other UP MLAs resigned[2]
SP won 19 seats in UP LA election 1952[3]
