Shirley Gibson (died 2023) was a public official and politician in Florida. She was the first mayor of Miami Gardens, a majority African American city outside Miami.[1] She served as mayor of Miami Gardens from 2003 to 2012.[2]
She graduated from St. Thomas University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and an M.A. in Pastoral Ministry. She worked as a police officer for several years.[2] She hosted a radio talk show in Miami.[2]
