Shiam Lal Gupta also know as Master ji was an Indian freedom fighter, political activist and educationist. He fought against British Raj in India, being a follower of Mahatma Gandhi Ji he actively participated in campaign for India's independence. As a kid he was highly inspired by non-cooperation movement led by Gandhi Ji and joined Indian independence movement. He also founded one of the first co-ed schools of delhi called Shishu Shiksha Sadan.

Early Life

He was born into a affluent landlord family of Chhajjupur a village in western Uttar Pradesh. He was the eldest son to his parents, but at a very young age he lost his father in 1918 flu pandemic in India, during this period his mother decided to give away all family wealth to the needy ones, as the government at that time failed to provide any assistance to general people.
