Sheriff Blathur (born 1989) is a Printing, Packaging, and Color Management expert from Kerala, India. He is renowned for training professionals from the Printing Industry worldwide on various subjects, including Prepress, Color Management, and Printing Technology.[1] Sheriff Blathur is also an author, best known for his book Basics of Prepress: A Comprehensive Guide, which has become a good seller in the Technology/Computer Science category.[2]

Early life and education

Sheriff Blathur was born in 1989 in Blathur, a small village in Kannur District, Kerala, India. He is the son of Nafeesa and Abdul Khader. Sheriff pursued his higher education in Printing Technology, earning a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Printing Technology from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Calicut University, in 2012. Following this, he completed a Certified Packaging Engineer course from the Indian Institute of Packaging-Chennai.[3]

Career

Sheriff Blathur has established himself as a leading expert in the fields of Printing, Packaging, and Color Management. He has been involved in providing training and consultancy services to professionals and companies worldwide, sharing his expertise on a wide range of topics relevant to the printing industry.

Currently, Sheriff Blathur leads the Design and Prepress Department of Balmer Lawrie (UAE) LLC, a leading industrial packaging company based in Dubai. In his role, he oversees the design, Prepress, and quality management processes, ensuring high standards in packaging development and production.

Research and publications

Sheriff Blathur has conducted extensive research on automation in offset printing machines. His work has contributed to advancements in the field, particularly through the publication of his paper Offset Printer Automation: An Industrial Revolution.[4] His research focuses on improving the efficiency and accuracy of printing processes through automation, a crucial area of innovation in the printing industry.
