Shanti Shree Pariyar, a Nepali folk singer, songwriter, and composer, was born in 1989 in the rural district of Rolpa, as one of nine siblings. Despite the hardships she faced during her early years, she was determined to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. At the age of 16, she courageously moved to Kathmandu on her own and began her singing journey, performing in various "Dohori Sanjh" venues for around nine years.[1]
Shanti Shree Pariyar pursued formal vocal training under the guidance of renowned Guru Chandan Kumar Shrestha at Gandarbha Kala Kendra. In addition, she successfully passed her voice test conducted by Radio Nepal in 2009. In 2011, Shanti Shree Pariyar released her debut album, "Ghar Cha Tin Tale," which marked the official start of her professional singing career. Since then, she has built an extensive portfolio of over 1,000 songs, featuring popular hits such as "Galbandi" "Chauka Dau" "Kura Bujna Parchha" "Bola Maya" and "Kauli" Her duet "Galbandi" with Prakash Saput became the fastest Nepali music video to reach 10 million views on YouTube.[2] Shanti Shree Pariyar has collaborated on several duets with Prakash Saput, which have gained widespread popularity and appreciation from the audience.[3][4]
Shanti Shree Pariyar has received numerous awards throughout her decade-long career. At the 2019 National Music Awards, organized by Radio Kantipur, she, along with Mr. Saput, won the People's Choice Award for their folk song 'Galbandi.'[5] In the sixth edition of the National Music Awards, one of Nepal's most prestigious music events, she was also recognized as the Best Female Lok Singer.[6]
Shanti Shree Pariyar has undertaken numerous national and international tours, performing in countries such as the USA, Australia, UAE, India, Israel, and many others.[7]
