Sein Wai Hlyan Burmese Translator, Editor, and Forestry Expert
Early Life and Education Sein Wai Hlyan holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Forestry, Myanmar, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the People, USA.[1] Their academic background has heavily influenced their work in forestry and economics.
Professional Career Sein currently serves as the Principal Staff Officer of the Deputy Director General at the Forest Department of Myanmar.[2] In this role, Sein is responsible for assisting with nationwide forestry policy decisions and helping to manage Myanmar's vast forest resources.
Freelance Work and Business In addition to their government role, Sein operates a freelance business, “Homey,” which offers services such as translation, proofreading, and SEO localization.[3] They are well-regarded on platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, where they provide Burmese/English translation and voice-over services across various sectors.[4]
Sein also creates content for their YouTube channel, focusing on teaching basic business concepts to an audience primarily in Myanmar.[5]
Research and Future Goals Sein is interested in pursuing a PhD in forest economics or business, with a particular emphasis on non-timber forest products (NTFPs). Their research aims to address the economic challenges facing Myanmar's forestry sector.[6]
