Scottsdale Mint, established in 2008 by owner and CEO Josh Phair, is a U.S.-based manufacturer, designer, and distributor of precious metal products. The company specializes in gold and silver bullion, coins, and bars, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Scottsdale Mint manufactures the legal tender currency in gold and silver for over 20 sovereign nations.[1]
History
[edit]Scottsdale Mint began operations in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2008. In 2011, the company established its main facility in Scottsdale, which serves as the center for design, manufacturing, and distribution.[2] [3] In 2022, Scottsdale Mint expanded its operations with a new facility in Casper, Wyoming. [4] This new minting facility houses various operations, including melting and casting, surface finishing, die production, coining, vaulting, and packaging.
Leadership
[edit]Josh Phair, the founder of Scottsdale Mint, previously worked as Vice President at Willis Towers Watson. He managed North American mining practices and risk management for mining clients. After forming Scottsdale Mint initially as a bullion reseller, Scottsdale Mint transitioned from a retailer to a prominent manufacturer in the precious metals industry when it purchased a division of Materion. [edit]Scottsdale Mint mints official coin currency and legal tender for over 20 sovereign nations, including Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Reserve Bank of Fiji, and Central Bank of Samoa.[1] The company also partners with bullion retailers, refineries, and mining companies globally.
