Scott Howe
[edit]Scott Howe is an American business executive currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of LiveRamp (NYSE: RAMP), a data connectivity platform that facilitates the safe and effective use of data.[1] A self-described "data geek," Howe is notable for his efforts to make the Big Data industry more transparent[2], and for his work on the now archived site aboutthedata.com, which let consumers see the data the industry had collected on them. [3] [4]
Career
[edit]From 2011 to September 2018, Howe served as the CEO and President of Acxiom Corporation, LiveRamp’s former parent company, which provides data foundations for leading marketers worldwide. Under his leadership, Acxiom received numerous industry accolades, including awards for innovation and recognition as Partner of the Year by a major financial services company[5] and Supplier of the Year by the world’s largest retailer.[6] In 2012, the New York Times reported that the company had the world’s largest commercial database on consumers. [7] In 2014, Fast Company named Howe one of the World’s Most Creative People.[8]
Prior to his time at Acxiom, Howe held leadership positions at both Microsoft and aQuantive. Between 2007 and 2010, he served as Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Advertising Business Group, where he managed a multi-billion-dollar portfolio in online advertising. His responsibilities encompassed various areas, including search, display advertising, digital cable, and multiple enterprise software applications.[9]. During his tenure at aQuantive (1999-2007), Howe managed three key business divisions: Avenue A | Razorfish, DRIVE Performance Media (now Microsoft Media Network), and Atlas International, which provided systems for ad serving and attribution.[6]
Howe began his career at The Boston Consulting Group and Kidder, Peabody & Company, Inc. He has also served on the boards of Blue Nile, Inc., an online retailer specializing in diamonds and fine jewelry, and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).[9]
Personal Life
[edit]Outside of his professional endeavors, Howe is involved in various hobbies, including traveling in his restored 1956 Airstream trailer, designing furniture, and spending time with his 3 children. [10] He was born in Milwaukee and a devoted fan and part-owner of the Green Bay Packers.
Education
[edit]Howe graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in economics and earned an MBA from Harvard University.[11]
