ScienceABC.com is a website dedicated to educational and explanatory science content to, "[...] to quench the thirst of human curiosity about everything around us in the environment and the universe by explaining it in simple words."[1][2][3] Articles follow a 'Question/Answer' format.[4] It was launched in 2015 and is owned by Wattcon Technologies Pvt Ltd, headquartered in Mumbai, India.[1][5] The website covers categories such as physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, psychology, technology, and social sciences. It also operates two YouTube channels: ScienceABC and ScienceABC II.
History
[edit]ScienceABC was founded in April 2015 by Abhishek Jain, who is also the founder of ScienceABC's parent company Wattcon Technologies.[5] Abhishek holds a Bachelors in Technology in Chemical Engineering and is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
YouTube and podcast
[edit]In 2015, a YouTube channel under the ScienceABC banner was also launched with a similar objective to the website. The ScienceABC YouTube channel shows explanations of scientific concepts with animation and easy-to-understand language.[6] As of 2024, the channel has 126 videos and 420,000 subscribers.[7]
In 2021, ScienceABC launched a second YouTube channel called ScienceABCII that hosts shorter videos focussing on everyday questions related to scientific phenomena.[8] ScienceABC also hosts The Short Answer, a podcast that answers everyday questions in 5 minutes or less in simple language.[9]
