SaxonQ GmbH is a Leipzig, Germany-based developer of quantum computers based on quantum processors with solid-state spin qubits.
History
[edit]SaxonQ[1] was founded in 2021 by Jan Meijer, Bernd Burchard and Marius Grundmann. It is a start-up of Leipzig University. In 2022 the company received seed investment and fully started operations. In 2023 it has delivered its first quantum computer[2].
Products and technology
[edit]SaxonQ is a full-stack quantum computing company. It designs and fabricates quantum processors containing qubits, integrates them with a controlling architecture, and develops software for programmers to use gate operations for building quantum algorithms for execution on the quantum hardware.
The qubits are electron spins from nitrogen-vacancy centers (NV centers) in diamond and coupled nuclear spin qubits. The NV centers are created with an ion implantation process[3]. The quantum computer is mobile and has been publicly demonstrated 2022 to work at room temperature[4][5]
