Sandra "Sunny" Bradley (born 25 August 1988) is a german strength athlete who has competed in strongman, powerlifting, bavarian stone lifting and grip competitions. With multple podium placings at world and european championships as well as four "Germany's strongest woman" titles (2018, 2021, 2022, 2023) she is germany's most successful strongwoman.

In 2019 she and the american strongwoman Liefia Ingalls became the first women in recorded history to lap the 186 kg Húsafell Stone.[1]

Personal life

[edit]

Bradley worked on patrol duty and as an instructor for the bavarian police before starting her own strength coaching business for national and international athletes.[2] Notable clients of hers include Ayyub Mohammad (Strongman Champions League and Germany's Strongest Man competitor) and Anja Schuffner (Greater China's Strongest Woman).

Strongwoman career

[edit]

Bradley competed in her first beginner strongwoman competition on november 16th, 2013 after an invitation by the reigning german champion Annett von der Weppen. She won the competition placing first in three out of the four events.[3]

She then went on to become a successful competitor in national and international competitions, competing mostly in the U82 but also in the U73 and Open weight class.

Germany's Strongest Woman

[edit]

After the German Strongwoman Championship was not held between 2015 and 2017 due to a lack of athletes, Bradley competed in this competition for the first time in 2018 and won her first “Germany's Strongest Woman” title convincingly with five out of five event wins.[4]

After her first national title she wasn't able to compete in the two following years due to an injury in 2019 and the competition not being held in 2020 due to the german COVID-19 restrictions.

In 2021, 2022 and 2023 Bradley was able to win the german championship in the open weight class again and is currently the record winner of the competition with four titles.[5][6][7]
