Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam (transl. Commander: Part 2 – Shouryaanga's Festival) is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language epic action drama film directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films.[2] The film stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, alongside an ensemble cast of Shruti Haasan, Bobby Simha, Jagapathi Babu, Devaraj, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, Mime Gopi, Brahmaji and Tinnu Anand.[3] It is the second instalment in the Salaar film series and follows the storyline of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023) as its sequel.[4] Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, the film follows the plotline of the bond and enmity shared between Deva (Prabhas), a member of a Shouryaanga tribe, and Varadha (Prithviraj Sukumaran), the prince of Khansaar.[5]

Production
[edit]Development
[edit]Salaar was intended to be a one-part movie, however in early February 2022, it was reported that the film would be split to a two-part film franchise,[6] which was announced by the production house Hombale Films on 8 July 2023, with a teaser trailer.[7] While the title for the maiden part was revealed that day, the title for the latter part was disclosed until the release day of the first part.[8]
Prior to the release of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in 2023, the film's makers announced its release as a two-part film.[9] The first instalment was released in December 2023,[10] while the subsequent part was scheduled for 2025. The official title for the second part, "Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam," was unveiled during the theatrical release of the first part on 22 December 2023.[11][12]
Filming
[edit]Principal photography was shot back-to-back with the maiden part, however, Prashanth Neel revealed that additional photography would be shot in 2024 after Prabhas completes filming for Kalki 2898 AD (2024).[13] 40% of Salaar: Part 2 was filmed along with the first part.[9][14] Filming was initially scheduled to resume in March 2024; however, it commenced on 23 October, coinciding the occasion of Prabhas' birthday.[15][16]
Release
[edit]Theatrical
[edit]Salaar: Part 2 is tentatively scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in the latter half of 2025.[1] It is scheduled to release in Telugu along with dubbed versions of Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.[17]
