History
[edit]In 1876, Bishop August Chevalier[11], a French Catholic Priest affiliated with the Paris Foreign Mission Society, established Sacred Heart Church in a small cottage on Victoria Road.
Later, in order to accommodate the growing congregation, a new church was constructed on Richmond Road. It was consecrated in the year 1895, by Rev. Jean-Marie Combret,[12] after the building was finished. [13][14][15][16]
